charity :: feeding

Every day about 2000 people get free lunches in the Stephania cafe.
On July 12, 2001 we celebrated the day, when the millionth visitor
came to the cafe. Taking into account that there are 3 million inhabitants
in Kiev, we can say that we have fed every third kievite.
From 9 o'clock in the morning till 9 o'clock in the evening everybody
can have one lunch here, without any documents and certificates.
The only condition is to be sober; we do not allow to come in for
those who are overtaken with drink.
The visitors are so different. They can be candidates of science,
producers, and musicians, people that have two higher educations.
They worked honestly their whole life, but they couldn't adapt to
"market conditions".

persons can seat in the comfortable cafe hall. There is a separate
dinning-room for children. Everywhere is clean and in order.
