The Lord gave me a helping hand!

I was raised in Mukachevo (Carpathians). I didn't know my father. When I was 14 my mother died from alcohol and I moved to my aunt. When I finished vocational training school she said that I should make my own life and I had to leave her place. Since my mother wasn't registered, the house-maintenance office deprived me of the flat where I lived with my mother. That time I didn't think about my future. I took to drinking with my friends. Later they got married and I remained alone. I had neither house nor home.

My mother's friend helped me: she gave me a room. I found a job. My life became better. But another trouble came to us: our house was swept away by the flood. Mother's friend got one room, and I found myself in the street again.

I began to drink hard; I tried to commit suicide in despair. I decided to follow my nose. It seemed to me that I couldn't find a better life. Last year I came to Kiev. Despite that I had no relatives and friends, I decided to stay here. I lived in the basements and picked up bottles. If I had some money, I drank it away.

I hated my life. I wondered whether I could escape from this hell. Why was I born? But I couldn't change anything.

I learned that there was Stephania cafe in Kiev. I started to visit it and I was shocked when I heard the testimonies of different people who were like me recently - God helped them. So I decided to break away from my old life. I repented and devoted myself to Jesus Christ.

God forgave me all my sins and delivered me from alcohol dependence. I began attending church ministries, reading the Bible. God gave me the new understanding of life. Now I am serving in the church. I have dwelling. I didn't know my father, but now I have our heavenly Father who loves me and takes care of me.

Alcohol brought me to prison, and God delivered me!

All money, which I earned, I spent for alcoholic drinks. I lost my job, began to steal things from my father and from other people. I sold these things and bought drinks. This life brought me to prison.

After my discharge from prison I didn't drink several weeks. But then everything came back again. I was out of a job and I had to steal again. I stole things from my father again. Finally my father ejected me from the house. I began tramping all over Ukraine.

I read in the newspaper about Stephania cafe and came to Kiev. One day when I was standing in a queue to get free lunch God suddenly touched my heart through the Christians. And I took the Lord into my heart, on the spot.

Jesus Christ delivered me from alcohol dependence. I finished the Bible school "Success". Now I have a future. I have no documents, but I pray and I am sure God will give me the job.

Since the beginning of perestroyka I went into business and achieved success.

After divorce I began to drink. Once, I was so drunk that didn't remember how I found myself in a village of the Kharkov Region without clothes and shoes. I turned to any old house for help. I received boots of 38 size and jersey.

While scouting about for food I came to Kiev. Vagrants, like me, told about cafe where I could eat.

I came to Stephania cafe. On hearing about Jesus Christ, Who had changed life for better of many people like me, I decided to open my heart and give all my life to God.

And God has shown a sign. He delivered me from alcoholism completely.

I began serve God in the Christ's Love Church. While living in the basement, I finished the Joshua Bible Institute.

God gave me a flat. Unbelievable, but it's true! Thank God!

God put into my heart the gift to make shoes. Now I am a shoemaker. My dream is to have a shoeshop.
